I was, in fact, overdue for an oil change. However, that is not what was making my car smell and drive weird. Apparently the majority of my fluids were low, and my power steering fluid was very low. Also, I, being completely oblivious, didn’t notice my passenger front tire had gotten pretty low. There’s a long slash looking mark in it but it doesn’t bubble up when I put liquid on it so I know it’s not leaking too badly. My tires really just need to be replaced in general (better start saving). Anyway, the power steering fluid being low is what made the car smell funny (don’t ask me how) and the low tire is what was causing it to vibrate when I drove. Oh well, better than having low oil and sucking sludge through. If my engine just died on the highway I think I would die. My air filter was “really dirty” and they said they could change it for 20 bucks. Screw that, I went to the store, bought it for 2 dollars, and put it in myself. So they filled my tires with air, changed my oil, topped off my fluids, and that was it. Then they charged me almost 45 bucks. A little pricey, right? My friend had a coupon for me to get my oil changed for 20 bucks and I didn’t grab it. That wasn’t too bright. Laziness is quite expensive. My car is fixed now though and it’s driving nicely again.

  1. I wish I had a car. I know they are a hassle at times, but I'm sure my daddy would make sure everything is alright with it. I'm glad that you just replaced the filter yourself! A lot of people would have just paid others to do it for them. My dad always fixes our cars. It's definitely much cheaper. I help him out too! It's a very good learning experience and will help me save money in the long run! :P
