I just got home from school and I feel really sick. I thought I was going to pass out on the drive home so I pulled over to catch my breath. I’m laying down now but I feel really woozy again every time I stand up. I also have to go to work from 6:00 pm to 11:00pm and they need me so I really can’t call off. I guess I’ll just have to suck it up. I have this weird phobia with swallowing pills and that’s all the medicine we have here so that’s not happening. It’s not even snowing and I’m already getting sick. Hopefully this means I won’t get sick again for the rest of the winter (ha ha that’s a joke). I’m watching that 70’s show again and Eric just proposed to Donna and she said yes! I wish once people were married they would never change and divorce was never even possible. I feel like all of the prior knowledge and examples of divorce seem to lower the standards for marriage these days and make it so much less romantic. Like divorce has now become the norm and couples just seem to begin to expect it. My parents are divorced, almost all of my friends parents are divorced, many of my classmates parents are divorced, my boyfriend’s parents have all been divorced…I wonder if kids from divorced families are just magically attracted to each other. I’ve never really even considered that till now. Those are some crazy demographics.

Not having class this Thursday has exempted me from the chemistry quiz and completing the next Problem Set! Yay! So now I’m all caught up on my homework for the night and I can finally relax! I do have to go into work but not until later. Better yet, tonight I get to sleep! I’m super happy. Right now I’m watching that 70’s show and eating cinnamon toast crunch. It’s delicious. I finally saw Jackass 3 last weekend. It was funny but I don’t feel like it lived up to its expectations. It was nice to get out for a night though. I really want to see that new movie Skyline that comes out this Friday. It’s about aliens and it looks really crazy. In the preview the entire world is raided by giant alien ships and there is literally no place to hide. Everyone is just watching all of the aliens come down and snatch hordes of people up into their crafts. It looks like it’s going to be an intense movie. My brother and my boyfriend love Halo with a burning passion. If people aren’t with them and they don’t have important things to do, you can bet they’re playing Halo. I’ve played it before, but I don’t really see why it’s so addictive. The graphics are great and the plot is interesting but eventually it just gets old to me. I wonder if there are any boys out there that also got bored of it…or any girls that haven’t gotten bored of it…hmmm.

Ok fine, I am going to do it. I am going to put down this creative paper that I’m actually really proud of, so that I can write about something timely, relevant, and compelling, that I could think of off the top of my head. My original paper was very unprecedented and in my opinion, relevant. Isn’t religion always relevant? Frankenstein just related to my last paper (which I believe was a requirement?) and tied in very well to this topic. However, if I am going to stay sane in this awful situation I’m stuck in this week, I’m going to have to try and try again. So what topics can I use? I have to brainstorm. Well obviously now I have to know they have to be broad and relatable. So far I’ve got, Depression: A Stealthy Killer, Gods Game: Strength Endurance? Your Death: The Toll it Takes, and Anxiety: What Ruins a Mind. Not the peachiest subjects, but hey, I’m not at all in a peachy mood. Rewriting your entire paper with no reference is never a happy thing, especially when you have boatloads of other assignments to do and you never expected to have to redo your entire paper by the following Friday. Well, I guess that’s just God’s Game (ha-ha get it? It’s an essay idea). I think I am going to do Depression: A Stealthy Killer, so that no one can possibly argue with me about how it is relevant, compelling, or timely. Depression is ALWAYS around, especially today, so it’s timely. Depression is a very prevalent problem in our community today, so it’s relevant. It can happen to everyone and lead to unexpected death, and there are countless examples of it. That is without a doubt compelling. Oh and why is it important? BECAUSE PEOPLE DIE FROM IT EVERY DAY.  Please argue with that. God I need to calm down ha-ha. Today is so not going well.

Today was by far one of the worst Tuesdays I’ve had this quarter. We had a very long and complicated lab to do in Chemistry today, so what does the TA do? She shows up late, and then tells us to be patient and hold on. The other classes not only get twelve extra minutes (that is a lot of time when it comes to labs), but now she is late and of course refuses to give us any Leigh way or extra time. The lab is not clearly explained, and is hard to decipher even on paper. Not only that, but people are still behind on other labs and this lab happens to count as double the points. So I hurriedly complete the lab, just manage (probably with several errors) and then am prompted to redesign the lab and find two unknown cations. Have we learned how to do this or even talked about it? No way, why would we. It’s only our grade. I did my own experiment and still have not deciphered the results, which will probably be wrong. I have so much more to do for this lab tonight. Not only that, but my math lecturer is behind while the homework just keeps moving ahead. I got my math quiz back from last week, it’s a failing grade. Wonderful. I understand the material, do well on homework, but when it comes to tests and quizzes I’m absolutely awful. I don’t do well under pressure. Then after that class I’m overwhelmed and doing homework again. The pressure is really getting to my brain. For some reason I thought it was Thursday, so I went to Denney for English and then at 1:28pm realized it was Tuesday. So I sprinted to Central Classroom building, not realizing I needed yet another hard copy of my commonplace paper. I get there late and unprepared, looking like an idiot, and proceed to pass my laptop around instead of a paper. Then I get my paper back and am told it’s more ARP than CP and that I basically need to rewrite it. I also have to go home and take care of my little brother right after school. I have to completely rethink and rewrite this paper, which I worked really hard on. I don’t know what to do anymore…Tuesdays suck.

I got virtually nothing done for school yesterday, so today I spent all morning doing English, Math, Chemistry, and a survey quiz. I thought it would be much more boring and tedious but the time seemed to fly by. Now I have to work from 4 to 11. Booooo. My friend who’s been at Dairy Queen forever finally got promoted and she works, so this should be interesting. Things have gotten so slow because no one wants ice cream in the winter time. You would think that would make our jobs much easier but no, it just means our boss finds more ridiculous tasks for us to do. Better yet, because she passes the orders down through me, not only do I have to lead and help complete the tasks but everyone is griping at me like I made the decision. Now I know what assistant managers are really for. Blame (ha ha). I’m still counting down the days until winter break! So I know a lot of survey classes get let out super early, and mine never does. HOWEVER, my teacher told us she’s ending the class two weeks early! Woopee! That means I get to go home and do homework sooner so I might actually have some free time! Free time is like gold to me at this point. I’m watching I love money. Everyone is always either arguing or sleeping with each other….gross. This is some high class television right hereeee.

I was, in fact, overdue for an oil change. However, that is not what was making my car smell and drive weird. Apparently the majority of my fluids were low, and my power steering fluid was very low. Also, I, being completely oblivious, didn’t notice my passenger front tire had gotten pretty low. There’s a long slash looking mark in it but it doesn’t bubble up when I put liquid on it so I know it’s not leaking too badly. My tires really just need to be replaced in general (better start saving). Anyway, the power steering fluid being low is what made the car smell funny (don’t ask me how) and the low tire is what was causing it to vibrate when I drove. Oh well, better than having low oil and sucking sludge through. If my engine just died on the highway I think I would die. My air filter was “really dirty” and they said they could change it for 20 bucks. Screw that, I went to the store, bought it for 2 dollars, and put it in myself. So they filled my tires with air, changed my oil, topped off my fluids, and that was it. Then they charged me almost 45 bucks. A little pricey, right? My friend had a coupon for me to get my oil changed for 20 bucks and I didn’t grab it. That wasn’t too bright. Laziness is quite expensive. My car is fixed now though and it’s driving nicely again.
