Battle Star Galactica was actually pretty interesting. I thought it would be really boring with a weak plot but it entertained me for the most part. I can see how someone might want to write a paper about it. Also, watching a movie for the entire period was great! It gave me a little bit of time to relax. That girl who punched her superior in the face was really ripped. It made her body look kind of studly and the haircut didn’t add to her appeal either. She looks very angry (coincidentally she is). There seems to be a lot of drama going on in this series. There’s an angry lady, an angry son, a guilty dad, a sexy robot, a cheating douchebag, and some angry less attractive robots. It kind of reaches out to a lot of emotional levels at once. And I agree with that paper about the flashbacks, they are realistic and interesting. I felt really bad when all of those bombs hit the colonies because there was really nothing anyone could do to stop them. Also, when that sexy robot killed the baby. That was NOT cool. I don’t see why she had to kill it if her race was going to nuclear bomb the planet anyway. Oh well, I guess it keys into her cynical character. Surprisingly I actually do want to finish watching the series. I don’t know how the defense could possibly beat the robots. The war almost seems over already since the planet has been nuked.

I went to the math tutor last night in my desperation to study an hour before the exam. Somehow they taught me almost everything I needed to know in one hour and I almost feel safe about that exam. It’s a good feeling. Today I only had two lectures, one in math and one in chemistry. It was a pretty boring morning, and I found it hard to stay awake. I always get so much more tired on these grey winter mornings. I then went home and proceeded to work on my homework. I thought I would get it done in like three hours but it ended up taking more like six because I had to catch up on reading my chemistry to even understand the material. So all of the elaborate plans I had for today are gone, oh well. I still really need to study for my chemistry exam (which is tomorrow night, yikes!). I did a fair amount of studying last week, but I honestly need to look at the practice midterm to have any hope at all. I’m really just sucking at everything this quarter. I am sooo excited for winter break. I can’t wait to sleep in and have downtime to do what I want instead of constant homework. Tomorrow after this class I’m going straight to the chemistry tutor and I’m going to park my ass in a seat and go over every problem in that practice midterm until I completely understand it. Those tutors are going to hate me but I honestly don’t care. Tomorrows gunna be a hectic day.

Today was an odd day. I am sitting in Hitchcock waiting for my 5:30pm math exam and I’m really nervous. I just came from the math tutor where I did the practice midterm in one hour and feel like I learned more in there than I have in class in 4 weeks. I’m definitely going to go there more often when I have the time. I did a complicated chemistry lab this morning and everyone was freaking out because they kept messing it up and having to start over. I think I did pretty well but I won’t know until I get it back I suppose. Anyway after that I attempted to get from Celeste laboratory to Caldwell and found out that I had to walk completely out of the way to escape the bomb threat. At first I was pretty pissed that this was gunna make me late for math recitation (in which I desperately needed the review) but then I got my hopes up about my exam getting cancelled. I didn’t really get to study this weekend because my car and phone broke simultaneously and I also had to work. On my way to English I grabbed a drink and a little cup of scalding hot soup (why is it that hot? I have no idea). I sat down and tried to balance my laptop, a heavy book, and the soup. Not my brightest idea. The soup (ofcourse) spilled all over my pants and boots, not only creating big embarrassing wet spots but also burning me ridiculously. I sat there and burned in silence hoping that no one would notice, then quietly went to the bathroom and got paper towels. I have burns on my legs. Jesus that soup was hot.

Wow, I really need to get started on commenting. I’m not even halfway done! I’m just going to have to take a whole day to do the majority of them on a weekend because unfortunately I don’t seem to ever make the time to do them periodically. So anyway, yesterday I got to hang out with some friends I haven’t seen in a while (too busy with school) and we went exploring in Columbus. I always had this plan with my friend Kaley concerning tattoos and piercings. A mutual best friend of ours passed away and I got a tattoo in his honor of his Sagittarius arrow symbol he always wore (I wear his necklace every day too) and the Celtic tree of life surrounding it. Kaley wanted the same arrow but smaller and on her wrist. She got her bellybutton pierced a while ago and I still hadn’t done it but was thinking about it. So we agreed that when she got her tattoo I would get my bellybutton pierced. Well, that plan didn’t actually turn out as we thought it would but it did in all reality happen. Drey and I were waiting for Kaley and really bored so we went on a drive down Cleveland Avenue and found this cool little tattoo and piercing shop. I think my life is getting quite monotonous, so in a rash decision I accepted Drey’s pleads to get it pierced finally. He sat and watched as the guy pushed a big needle through my tummy and then it was over. Then Kaley calls, meets us there, and she also rashly decides shes getting her tattoo here and now. Luckily the tat was small and they could somehow fit it into their schedule. I held her hand and her eyes watered, but overall it was done really quickly. Now I have a pretty pink studded bellybutton ring and she has fresh ink on her wrist. I would say it was a successful day.

Well I’m proud of myself. I wrote an entire essay in a couple weeks that I thought was really good but it didn’t fit the Common Place standards, and I had to start over from scratch. My previous paper was more of an analytical research paper. So I took the more, ethos, pathos and logos route and wrote a more persuasive paper. I mean, the paper does need to have a message, right. Well the message in my new paper is really clear and appeals to all three of those listed above. I think my thesis is clear too. The only problem is my paragraphs are a little lengthy, but I think that all of the information was needed. So now I am actually finished with a completely different paper and it’s on time. I’m sooo happy I got it done and don’t feel like complete crap about it. Hopefully my grade on it corresponds. I’m sitting on the little benches on the second floor of Evans lab. It’s always really nice and quiet up here and there’s a big window to look out of. It’s really peaceful. I certainly don’t enjoy the cold of the winter but I do love how white and clean everything looks under a powdery blanket of snow. I don’t get to schedule my winter quarter classes until Monday because I didn’t sign up for any of the honors programs like I should have. I have my entire schedule planned out but I don’t think the classes will be available anymore by the time I get to them L.

I just realized how many fears I have. I don’t feel like I’m scared of a lot, but once I stop and think of it I really am. Honestly, I am scared of the dark, heights, needles, swallowing pills, spiders, and betrayal. Now, I can deal with the dark. But I have to try. Naturally, first response, I am afraid. Maybe it’s just me, maybe its typical human fear of the unknown. Heights, obviously is just because falling to my death seems highly painful. Needles though, that’s a little different. I’ve had a lot of needles in my body, as far as all of my totaled injuries go. They had to stick a needle deep into my chin muscle when I had my car accident. Then it didn’t seem to matter, but even now after having my face ripped from the muscle, needles terrify me. A simple routine shot at the doctors is enough to make me dizzy. It’s not the pain, it’s the sight. Swallowing pills, well that’s not so common. I have this weird thing where I can’t willingly swallow even the tiniest pill. I will definitely force myself too if I absolutely have to, but not without gagging feeling sick afterwards. Again, it’s really the sight, not the feeling. Or more so the thought, as if I my mind keeps telling me I can’t do it. Weird, I know. Spiders are a common fear. I love animals, and I can actually pick up a spider if I’m feeling particularly brave or compassionate, but overall they terrify me. That’s just how I am. Betrayal is a common human fear. It makes my heart race when I think of someone close to me betraying me. Nevertheless it will always happen to everyone, so best just to get over that right now.
